
David McCharen has been teaching and performing improvisation for over 25 years. He has worked in film and television as an actor, writer, director and producer, and has many voice and screen credits to his name. He currently performs with Saturday Night at the LA Connection Comedy Improv Theater and with the renowned Spolin Players at both Theater Palisades and The Eclectic Theater in Santa Monica, CA. He was privileged to work directly with Viola Spolin (“mother” of contemporary improv) for three years, prior to her retirement.
McCharen has taught improv workshops at Monterey Peninsula College in Northern California, and for the past three years at Canyon Charter Elementary School to the classes of his two children.
