Elyse Marchant

Elyse Marchant

Elyse Marchant, soprano, is originally from Porterville, California. She graduated from UCLA in 2009 with her Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Music Education. That same year, she also earned her California Teaching Credential in K‐12 Music from UCLA. Currently, she teaches private vocal instruction at SOL‐LA Music Academy in Santa Monica. She also teaches K‐12 music at Roosevelt Elementary and 3rd‐8th grade choir at St. Anne Catholic School in Santa Monica.

Elyse has performed in a variety of operatic and musical theater productions, including lead roles in The Threepenny Opera (Polly) and H.M.S. Pinafore (Josephine). Other credits include Dido and Aeneas, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Falstaff, The Mikado, Suor Angelica, and the soprano solo in Mahler's Fourth Symphony with the Tulare County Symphony, with whom she played viola for five years. Currently, Elyse cantors for Immanuel Presbyterian Church and sings with a number of different vocal ensembles, including Los Angeles Master Chorale, Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble, Horizon Music Group, Los Angeles Operetta Project, and Pacific Swingline, an a cappella vocal jazz quintet. She has also sung with the Charles Dickens Carolers and will be performing with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale in their upcoming 2011 Winter season.

In addition to live performance, Elyse is active as a studio musician. Her voice can be heard in numerous films, including The Smurfs, The Rite, Battle: Los Angeles, Skyline, Winnie the Pooh, and Cowboys and Aliens. She can also be heard on the bestselling Ubisoft video games Just Dance Kids and Smurfs Dance Party.
