
Uruguayan violinist Javier Orman has performed as a soloist with orchestras in the United States, Uruguay, Peru and El Salvador. As a recitalist, he toured with Peruvian pianist Pedro Uceda in 2008 with performances in Charleston, South Carolina; Washington, DC; Lima, Peru and Quito, Ecuador. He has also played some thirty recitals as a member of the award-winning Terranova Piano Trio.
He is a member of the Entropy Ensemble, a group inspired by the British band Radiohead. After several critically-acclaimed performances during the Spring, the group will tour the West and East coasts starting in August.
A Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship recipient, Javier received his Master's Degree from the University of Michigan, where he studied with Yehonatan Berick as a full-scholarship recipient. He completed Bachelor degrees in Music and Mathematics (Magna cum Laude) at the College of Charleston with Lee-Chin Siow.
Javier is currently the Orchestra Program Director at the Charleston Academy of Music, where he started Kidzymphony, an orchestral program for young children based on the models of networks of youth and children orchestras of Venezuela and Uruguay.
