
Multi-faceted Singer/Songwriter/Producer and Actor, LOUIS PRICE is a powerful and refreshing presence in today's music field. As former lead singer with the legendary Temptations and The Drifters, LOUIS PRICE has toured the world enchanting audiences of all ages. During his years as The Temptations' lead singer (1977-80), LOUIS recorded 3 albums on the Atlantic label - "Hear To Tempt You", "BareBack", and the third album untitled. The group toured with many major artists including Bill Cosby, Ben Vereen, Donna Summer, Pia Zadora, Dionne Warwick, Jack Albertson, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin and many, many more.
The Temptations also did several European and Scandinavian Tours, and they shared their special brand of magic when they toured Africa. In the US they made appearances at the Latin Casino, Westbury Music Fair, Circle Star Theater, Valley Forge, Mill Run, and on the Mike Douglas, Dinah Shore, Rock Concert and Soul Train TV shows.
In the 80's LOUIS PRICE moved to England to perform as a lead vocalist with The Original Drifters of Pop/R&B fame. The group's extensive tours included, The Sahara Hotel, Las Vegas, the exclusive Southhampton Princess, Bermuda and several tours of Europe. On these tours LOUIS shared the vocal spotlight with Johnny "Under The Boardwalk", "Saturday Night At the Movies" Moore and Ben E. "Stand By Me", "Spanish Harlem" King.
From the 90's to today LOUIS PRICE's vocal touch has enhanced the soundtracks of "Hairspray," Norbit", "Glory Train," "Phone Booth", "O, Brother, Where Art Thou?", "Mighty Joe Young", "Amistad, "Species", "Mystery Alaska", "The Truth About Cats and Dogs", "Tommy Boy" and "HouseGuest." In "Hoodlums" LOUIS was featured singing "Steal Away", and had the treat of singing with his mother in the funeral scene. Louis was also featured singing and acting in the Tom Hanks feature "The Ladykillers."
LOUIS added his voice to "American Dreams", "Boomtown", and the TV teleplay "The Little Richard Story". The sweeps winning teleplay "The Temptations" featured Louis as the Dennis Edwards voice. In addition, the "Jackie's Back", "Second Noah" and Fame LA" TV themes were sung by LOUIS. In the "Jackson Family Honors" LOUIS was showcased on such Four Tops hits as "Can't Help Myself". Oprah Winfrey's Movie-Of-The-Week hit "There Are No Children Here" featured his special rendition of "A Song For You". In the critically acclaimed HBO series "Laurel Avenue" his blues treatment of "I Shall Be Released" was used as the show's promotional campaign attention getter.
LOUIS sang "Gloria" and "The Chase" in the hit feature "White Men Can't Jump" where he also honed his acting abilities as "King Eddie Faroo. It was a unique joy. Cartoon aficionados heard LOUIS in the films "Happy Feet", "102 Dalmatians", "Dinosaurs", "Big Mama's House", The Road To El Dorado", "The Prince Of Egypt", "A Bug's Life", "Hercules", "The Lion King", and "Ferngully" and on TV's "South Park" and "Boston Legal."
2010 saw Louis acting and singing on the Robert Townsend internet series "Theatre of Hope." LOUIS can also be seen in episodes of "My Wife & Kids", as the Principal, and "Ally McBeal" singing in the on camera Choir. Other on-screen credits include the Steven Bochco pilot "Cop Rock" as Foreman of The Jury, "The District". "LA Law", and "Motown 30" with a duet sung by LOUIS PRICE and Dawnn Lewis. The summer of 2000 found Louis singing with "The Eagles" Don Henley on his acclaimed TV special. His on-camera singing includes critically acclaimed "NYPD Blue" and in the music video with rapper DMX.
In the hit stage musical "The First Lady", LOUIS PRICE combined his acting and singing talents playing the dual role of Rev. Cooper and Lucas Taylor. The musical played to sold out 2,000+ seat houses in theaters all across the country. It gave Louis the opportunity to step forward as a credible leading man. In the production of "Children In The Street", LOUIS continued to sharpen his acting skills while focusing attention on America's growing number of homeless children.
LOUIS has been heard in commercials for Bridgestone, Coors, Fruit of The Loom, TriCyclen, Verizon, Klennex, Mountain Dew, Epson, Jack In The Box, Extra, Coke, Bell Atlantic, Wriggleys, Chrysler, Lunchables, Oscar Meyer, Red Lobster, Mobile, Nike, Levi, Sunny Delight, Pacific Bell, Pathfinder, JCPenney, and Michelob on both radio and television. His station ID's can be heard on WNUA radio and 94.7 The Wave.
LOUIS has been fortunate to sing on many hit albums, including vocal consultant on the new Seal album, produced by David Foster and those of Diana Ross, Neil Young, Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Michael Smith, and Taylor Hicks. His self-titled solo album on Motown Records "Louis Price" contains songs that warm your heart as well as get you moving on the dance floor. Presently, LOUIS has his own music production company, which can provide entertainment for all occasions - large and small.
LOUIS PRICE and Starr Parodi combined their formidable talents to do acoustic piano and vocal concerts in Los Angeles and in Ft Meyers, FL. The Florida concert was part of a 3 night sold out offering by Father Jerry Kaywell, a talented inspirational singer/preist and songwriter in his own right. They added another performance to their list at Pebble Beach, CA..
Additionally, LOUIS PRICE has performed for many years with the children of The HELP Group, a leading national organization dedicated to the education of children with autism. LOUIS also finds himself drawn to the streets of downtown Los Angeles where he entertains the homeless and destitute on major holidays through the Fred Jordon Mission outreach services.
Corporations have used the talented LOUIS PRICE along with his orchestra and singers to entertain at events sponsored by the American Medical Assoc., The Nat. Council On Aging, The Sheraton Corp., Miller Brewing Co., 20th Century Fox, Warner Brothers, The NAACP State Convention, Cedar Sinai Medical Center Tribute to Berry Gordy, and the Nat. Conference of State Legislators where LOUIS performed for an enthusiastic crowd of 5,000+. Oscar parties have also danced the night away to his energetic renditions. In addition numerous Executives and Studio Heads have partied all night to his captivating sounds, ranging from the Big Band sound, to a cappella singers and strolling violins, R&B hits, 70's Disco, Jazz and Standards.
His latest collaboration is with Musical Director Benjamin Wright who helmed the orchestras for the Temptations and Gladys Knight, as well as arranging Grammy winning records for Justin Timberlake to state just a few of his musical accomplishments The fall of 2003 saw the formation of The Price/Wright Orchestra - 18 musicians providing an "eargasm" of music with three talented and beautiful female singers fronted by the always exciting, melodic and improvisational vocal stylings of the charismatic entertainer, Louis Price. In August 2006 the Orchestra opened for Gladys Knight in Dallas, TX.
Now with the formation of The Price/Wright Orchestra, Louis and Benjamin Wright have written and produced their 1st album together as they embark on this exciting new musical journey. Their combined skills, stage presence and musical know-how make this one of the most versatile musical duos performing today, presenting Big Band, R&B, Jazz, Standards, and Pop renditions of all your favorite songs.
