Nelly Guevara

Nelly Guevara is a Honduran-Argentinian violinist and educator based in Los Angeles. She studied in Europe at the prestigious Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, with Rainer Schmidt and Marco Rizzi, and further developed her chamber music studies at the International Institute of Chamber Music in Madrid. She also received chamber music coaching from members of the Alban Berg Quartet and Menahem Pressler. Her international career includes positions with the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Portugal, where she served as Assistant Concertmaster, and the Buenos Aires Philharmonic at Teatro Colón. She also served as violin faculty at California State University, Northridge. Nelly currently performs with orchestras and ensembles throughout the Los Angeles area and teaches violin, chamber music, and orchestral repertoire through music education programs in Santa Monica.
