Dr. Hannah Murray
Dr. Hannah Murray is a classically trained violinist who enjoys a dynamic and diverse musical career. Based in Los Angeles, Hannah is an active educator and is regularly invited to give lectures, workshops, and masterclasses nationwide and at top conservatories and music programs, including Colburn, Juilliard, and Oberlin, on topics including Timani, musicians’ health, violin pedagogy, and yoga for musicians. In 2018, she founded corpSonore – sound | body | wellness, a platform for musicians' health and wellness, and regularly works with musicians to improve their coordination and their overall musical experience. She has also worked with several Grammy winners and top classical performers across the United States.
As a performer, she has toured both nationally and internationally with various bands and composers. She served as the Principal Second Violinist of the Tulsa Symphony and Associate Concertmaster of the Signature Symphony until she retired in 2022. Hannah enjoys performing and recording with various ensembles in Southern California and has performed with Bright Eyes, Phoebe Bridgers, 2 cellos, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, and many more.
Hannah is the Violin and Viola Instructor at Mount Saint Mary’s University and the Orchestra Director at The Archer School for Girls, and offers courses and additional musical training online. You can learn more about her at https://www.activeviolinist.com.
